This sparkling wine is delicious as an aperitif, but also goes well with calamari and refined seafood starters. A light salad with scallops, for example.
Wine House
Bodegas Salentein was founded by the Dutch businessman and visionary Mijndert Pon. The Bodegas Salentein project started in 1997, the construction of the bodega was completed in 1999. However, Salentein's vineyards have a much longer history.
Vinification
The first fermentation takes place at a low temperature to preserve the fresh character of the wine. The second fermentation takes place according to the Méthode Charmat. The sediment from the second fermentation remains in the tank and is the basis for the six-month 'sur lie' maturing process, which gives the typical toast aroma.
Origin
Sourced from the vineyards of El Oasis Estate, in Alto Valle de Uco, 1100 meters above sea level in the high Uco Valley region. The vineyards benefit from the sunny weather during the day and the cooling from the Andes at night. Alto Valle de Uco is the best wine region in the greater Mendoza area.
