Salentein Primus Malbec 2020
Salentein Primus Malbec
This Primus shows the classic deep purple-red color of the Malbec. The beautiful expressive scent offers a variety of aromas of blackberry, blueberry and red fruit, you can also discover spices and the aftertaste is suitably long.
Primus
Because only the very best is good enough, Salentein Primus wines are only released in years when the wine is of exceptional quality. Only grapes from small, specially selected plots of vineyards in the Uco Valley are used.
Vinification
Just like Cabernet Sauvignon, this Primus is also partly fermented in large oak barrels and partly in small barriques of 225 liters. While the wine from the small barrel strongly absorbs the flavors of the wood, the 7000 liter barrel has relatively much less contact with the wine. Together they form a nice balanced blend.
Origin
The Malbec used for this Primus of Salentein is proof why this is the Argentine grape. The grape is very suitable for the Argentinian climate, it feels at home in the Uco valley where the growing season is long and temperatures can sometimes rise considerably. On somewhat rocky soils, this grape variety brings out the best from the soil and within itself.
