La Villette Chardonnay 2022
La Villette Chardonnay
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The grapes come from vineyards located in the southwest of France at the foot of the Pyrenees mixed with grapes from Mediterranean coastal areas. The grapes ferment for 10 to 12 days in French and American oak, after which the wine matures 'sur lie' for another 6 months. Half of the wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation, which preserves the natural freshness of the wine. Due to the early bottling of the wine, it retains its freshness and primary aromas. This Chardonnay is a refreshing and complex wine. The scents of lemon pie, banana and pear are followed by the warm scents of toasted bread and hints of vanilla and roasted nuts.
La Villette is an old district of Paris. In the past, Paris was supplied with food and wine from this district. Supplies were brought to Paris by horse, ox or boat. Today, La Villette is still one of the most visited tourist attractions.
The goal of the La Villette winemakers is to make a wine with the authentic French appearance for drinkers worldwide. In addition, they want to make an abundant wine in attractive and reliable packaging with the romantic French appearance that also represents the quality of the wine. We do this by giving the bottles and labels a traditional French look, for example with an image of the river that supplied Paris from La Villette.
Thanks to the “vin de France” label it is possible to use the best grapes from all over France for this wine. The winemakers are also free to create new blends and thus bring new surprising wines to the market. These wines promise to have good quality and progressive new flavors.
