The Stefani Classic Pinot Grigio 2022

Tasty with delicate starters, delicious with fried sea bass with fennel.

The history of this family business dates back to 1866. Today the company is led by Alessandro De Stefani, a certified oenologist, and De Stefani's wines appear in all major Italian wine guides. De Stefani's vineyards are on average 25 years old and planted with 8,400 vines per hectare. The low yield of 450-950 grams per stick ensures complex wines with deep concentration.

Soft pressing of the whole grapes, after fermentation the wine matures for several months on its lees in stainless steel barrels. The lees are stirred regularly to increase the complexity and softness of the wine.

The grapes for this wine come from 'Caranto' soil (clay with minerals from the Dolomites) of the Le Ronche vineyard in Fossalta di Piave. This Pinot Grigio is of a different order than the many varieties offered from warmer regions. The grapes are picked by hand and come from more than 50 year old vines, not far from the Adriatic coast. The fresh (sea) wind ensures a balanced growing season, resulting in a pure, fresh and easily digestible wine.
