Langmeil Valley Floor Shiraz 2021
Langmeil Valley Floor Shiraz
Today, Chief Winemaker Paul Lindner oversees the vinification process and pays particular attention to making wine from individual vineyards, minimal handling and careful filtration to ensure distinctly well-balanced wines with subtle complexities. Langmeil shows that Barossa is capable of producing not only easily approachable wines but also more complex varieties with excellent aging potential.
The heart of the Barossa is the Valley Floor, a highly prized piece of prime wine growing land that forms the basis and essence of this wine. 74% of the grapes for this wine come from the Barossa Valley and 26% of the grapes from the Eden Valley. The wine matures in 16% new American oak barrels and 84% in old American and French oak barrels.
The wine has a deep red color with purple reflections. Rich and full aromas of plum and raspberry mingle with sweet spices, hints of chocolate and savory notes. Rich, sweet and juicy fruit is balanced with the velvety soft yet young tannins. The wine is complex and has a medium to full body with hints of mocha and vanilla that transition into the long fruity and spicy finish.
Wild duck with truffle or a marinated steak go great with this wine.
