Vermador Monastrell Petit Verdot Pinoso 2021
Vermador Monastrell Petit Verdot Pinoso
The red Vermador has a bright, slightly translucent ruby red color. The smell is pure and the wine has a lot of red fruit in the nose, such as wild raspberries and blackberries, and also a hint of herbs. The petit verdot gives the wine a lot of softness. The wine is dry and the red fruit and herbs are reflected in the taste. Vermador red has a medium flavor intensity with soft tannins.
Vermador red is a blend of monastrell and petit verdot. The grapes are picked by hand and destemmed and crushed upon arrival. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. For optimal color, smell and taste, the juice is pumped over the peels. This period lasts about two to three weeks. Afterwards, the wine rests for some time in stainless steel tanks until bottling.
Vermador red is very suitable for drinks or to serve at the table. Pairs well with vegetarian dishes, casseroles with vegetables and gratinated cheese, pasta carbonara and barbecued meat.
Bodega de la Pinoso is a 100% organic bodega in the warm DO Valencia, near Alicante. A talented young team works on the wines under the inspiring leadership of Ana Amat. They combine modern and traditional techniques, work with low sulphite levels and use indigenous yeasts and autochthonous grape varieties such as monastrell. The subsoil and microclimate around the bodega are ideal for growing these grape varieties. They give the wines of La Bodega de Pinoso that little bit extra. An "alma de vida", Mediterranean soul as the Spaniards describe it.
