Salentein Numina Chardonnay 2022
Salentein Numina Chardonnay
Delicious with sea bass with lentils, but with the Italian classic Vitello Tonato, this Numina Chardonnay is truly sublime!
In the heart of the Mendoza lies the Uco Valley, where the Salentein bodegas are located, with Dutch roots and international recognition. The famous Argentinian winemaker José 'Pepe' Galante is head of the winery and a specialist in the field of viticulture in high altitude locations.
Numina means 'the soul of the vineyard'. This Numina Chardonnay harbors this soul.
The Numina Chardonnay undergoes a partial malolactic fermentation, malic acid is converted into lactic acid and this gives the wine its softness. Furthermore, the wine also undergoes maturation on the lees, which gives it a slightly floral touch. This maturation takes place in French oak barrels for 8 months.
The name of the vineyard for the Numina wine is 'El Oasis'. This vineyard is low-lying, but has a long growing season, which is reflected in the soft fruity character of the wine.
