Portillo Chardonnay Bodegas Salentein
Wine food
Serve this Portillo Chardonnay with full, mild dishes with fish, poultry or pasta.
Salentein
Bodegas Salentein was founded in 1997 by the Dutch businessman and visionary M. Pon. With Salentein as a trendsetter, Argentinian wine has made a strong appearance in the Netherlands. The vineyards at the foot of the Andes Mountains guarantee top quality wines.
Portillo
The name Portillo comes from the historic mountain pass between the Andes Mountains and the Uco Valley. This pass served, among others, as a passage over the mountain for Charles Darwin. Today it is the gateway to the fantastic vineyards of Portillo.
Vinification
Cooled fermentation in large stainless steel tanks brings out the true expression of the fruit. Purely fermented fruit juice from Salentein!
Origin
The average 30 year old vines benefit from the large difference in day and night temperatures. This certainly benefits the development and diversity of fresh fruit flavors in the Portillo Chardonnay and prevents heavy and cumbersome flavors.
