Les Hauts de Montarels Chardonnay Eleve and Futs

This Chardonnay, Elevé and Fûts has aromas and taste notes of candied citrus fruit, peach, toast, vanilla and honey. Delicious to combine with creamy fish dishes, crustaceans such as lobster and chicken.

The Vignerons d'Alignan du Vent cooperative stands for innovation in winemaking in the Languedoc. The chardonnay grapes slowly reach the right ripeness under the warm Mediterranean sun and the strong Northern wind keeps the grapes dry and healthy. The slopes are gentle and the soil consists of quartz, clay and boulders. The vines are on average 15 years old and the grapes are picked in the cool of the night. In the cellar they are stripped of their stems before alcoholic fermentation begins. All plots are vinified separately in large oak barrels, after which the wine matures for another 6 to 8 months in oak barrels of different sizes.
