Ripe aromas of dark cherries, plums and sweet spices from the French and American oak. On the palate it is a very concentrated wine, with soft tannins and a juicy, fresh fruitiness. An intense yet lively wine with an aftertaste full of spices.

This wine is made from Touriga Nacional grapes.

Casa Ermelinda Freitas

Leonor Freitas is the 4th generation of winemakers of this dynamic company, which was founded in 1920. The vineyards now cover 240 hectares, in the DO Palmela sub-area in the Península de Setúbal wine region. Like many wines from Portugal, the wines of Ermelinda Freitas are distinguished by the use of indigenous grape varieties, often unknown in the Netherlands. This creates wines with their own unique character and taste profile.

Casa Ermelinda Freitas has been chosen as European Wine Producer of the Year for the second year in a row. This prize was awarded during the Sommelier Wine Awards in London.
